Breakfast For Weight Loss

Here are my thoughts on the best breakfast for weight loss based on everything that I have read so far.

First of all, here are some foods to avoid consuming for breakfast:

  • Milk
  • Bread
  • Packet cereal
  • Fruit juice
  • Jam / marmalade

Scarily, all of these items are very popular for breakfast, but they cause your body to store more fat.

For many of us, breakfast is one of the easiest changes to make to our diet, and possibly one of the most effective.

During the first phase of my weight loss where I went from 220 pounds to under 200 pounds, my breakfast usually consisted of a Grapefruit and a mug of tea. This was better than before where I had a daily slice of toast and marmalade.

I personally think that the Grapefruit was a good choice since it is low in calories, contains vitamin C, high in fiber (to make you feel satisfied), and fruit is healthy food. The argument against fruit is that it contains fructose. But Grapefruit only contains 2-3% fructose.

And my mug of tea is mostly water, but I do add some milk.

But, in the interests of maximizing fat loss, I am going to try the following breakfast for weight loss idea: scrambled eggs and a glass of cold water consumed within 30 minutes of waking up. I may also add some green vegetables to the mix as well.

The eggs will be whole, not just whites. I love the taste of cooked eggs, but was concerned about the waste of not using the yolks, but it appears that the most healthy option is to use the whole eggs. Contrary to popular beliefs of people I have listened to in the past.

Eggs

Milk will be avoided. I’m no chef, but I think I can make scrambled eggs, hopefully without milk.

My mornings will then consist of:

  • Get out of bed
  • Drink a glass of cold water
  • Make some scrambled egg using 2/3 whole eggs
  • Eat the breakfast
  • Drink a glass of cold water
  • Do some exercise
  • Drink a glass of cold water

So it will be interesting to find out if this is a good breakfast for weight loss or not.
