Water Diet

Drinking water as part of a diet plan is an often overlooked but important aspect of losing weight.
Most people don't drink enough water and so their body retains some to allow for the shortage. This results in a fatter body shape.

How the Water Diet Works

The idea is to drink plenty of water so that your body does not store extra supplies in your body tissue. Also, your kidneys need plenty of water and if they are deprived of water, the liver helps out. The problem here is that your liver, is diverted from it's job of converting body fat to energy.

So how much water to drink?

The recommended daily intake of water is 8 glasses a day which is about 2 litres. This is a suprisingly large amount and will vary with your body size.

Drinking all this water will help fill up your belly so you should feel less urge to eat and infact become full sooner.

On starting out with the water diet, you will be visiting the toilet many more times. But this is because your body takes time to adapt to the new regime. When your body realises that it doesn't need to store excess water any more, things should settle down.

Spread the water intake over the day and try to avoid consuming large quantities at once. Since you will be consuming alot of water, please check the label on any bottled water for mineral content, so you don't overdose on minerals.

Apart from losing fat, other benefits of the water diet are improved skin and muscle tone.

p.s. don't forget to eat food as well!
