Progress Update

This is my first progress update since starting my new phase of fat loss just over a week ago.

Here are the measurements:

Bicep: 31 cm
Waist: 97 cm (38″)
Hips: 100 cm
Thigh: 60 cm
Weight: 88.5 kgs (195 lbs)

I am listing the data from each update on the progress page.

My weight has hardly changed (down 0.5 kg), but I had a big reduction in my waist measurement down 3.5 cm (1.4 inches). Hopefully, this is due to fat loss, but I have also been exercising, so it could be due to a tightening up of the core muscles around the Abs.

I’ve been having scrambled eggs for each breakfast, and I’m drinking a lot of water. My pee is almost clear many times, so I’m more hydrated than before and this may be why my weight didn’t appear to go down much. I guess that I am carrying about 2 kgs more water weight than before.

In case you didn’t know, the color of your pee is a good indicator for how well hydrated you are.

First thing in the morning, it tends to be darker, but later in the day it should be light yellow to indicate a good level of hydration. If your pee is always dark yellow to orange, then you need to drink more water.

With the new protein-rich diet, and plenty of water, I don’t actually feel hungry. So I could possibly eat less such as using just 2 eggs for breakfast.

I did try this one morning, and was getting hungry before lunch time.

For exercise, I’ve done the Man Killer routine. The first time I did this, I completed 3 rounds and had aching leg muscles for several days.

Today I did it again and was exhausted after 1.5 rounds. So I then did some planks (left-side, right-side and horizontal) holding for 1 minute.

This kind of exercise is hard, but takes little time. So there is no “haven’t got time” excuse involved.

A couple of days ago, the weather was mild, so I tried HIIT with running. I jogged for 7 minutes, then did 10 rounds of running fast for 40 seconds, followed by 20 seconds of walking. Finally, jogging home (the hardest part). The total time was just 25 minutes.

Maybe I will try HIIT swimming next? p.s. Happy New Year! Did You set any weight loss goals for 2012?

Looking forward to the next progress update in a week time.

Keep up the good work, Andrew!
I should drink much more water…
However, in winter season it makes me keep going to a freezing cold washroom.

    I hate it!!
